According to reports, Jose Mourinho is already lining up Chelsea midfielder Nemaja Matic as his first signing at Manchester United.
The Daily Mail report that the Portuguese coach is set to be afforded an eye-watering £200 million warchest when he arrives at Old Trafford.
The tabloid note that the manager is making plans for a transfer raid on his former club Chelsea, and is keen to snare Serbian powerhouse Matic, a player who enjoyed the best season of his career under Mourinho as the Pensioners won the title in 2014.
The Red Devils parted ways with Dutch coach Louis van Gaal on Monday, with Mourinho looking set to take over as the Dutchman’s successor.
Matic looks unlikely to be his only transfer target this summer, with the Mail also noting that the ex-Real Madrid manager will look to return to another of his former clubs to sign Raphael Varane from Los Merengues, while John Stones of Everton and Joao Mario of Sporting Lisbon also being considered by the incoming manager.
