Goals from Brown Ideye, Kelechi Iheanacho and Odion Ighalo helped Nigeria romp to a 3-1 victory over Luxembourg on Tuesday night.
Brown Ideye opened the scoring on 36 minutes, finishing off a rebound off Onazi Ogenyi’s shot after excellent work by Aminu Umar.
Manchester City youngster Iheanacho, who scored the only goal that gave the team victory against Mali in France on Friday, scored in the 69th minute and assisted Odion Ighalo for Nigeria’s third on the night.
Ighalo made it 3-1 for Nigeria on 91 minutes; a minute after Thill Vincent had reduced the tally for the hosts, finishing nicely from defensive slip by Kenneth Omeruo.
The Nigeria interim technical crew comprising Salihu Yusuf, Kennedy Boboye and Imama Amakpakabo rang many changes in the second half as the team romped to a deserved victory against their hosts at Stade Josy Barthel in Lëtzebuerg, Luxembourg.
