For the second consecutive away games, Sunshine Stars striker, Dele Olorundare, was the hero for his side after scoring the equalising goal in a 3-3 draw against Akwa United in the additional time of their game in Uyo on Wednesday.
Sunshine defeated Abia Warriors 2-1 in their last away game in Umuahia with Olorundare getting the winning goal on the death, a feat he repeated against Akwa United, although this time it was the equaliser.
Okiki Afolabi had given the Akure Gunners the lead in the 17th minute of the game but Aniekan Ekpe restored parity five minutes later before Fortune Omoniwari gave Akwa the lead in the 38th minute to end the first half 2-1.
Friday Ubong increased the lead in the 61st minute but Okiki Afolabi’s second goal gave the visitors a lifeline before
Olorundare’s dramatic late goal as the game ended 3-3.
