Nigeria Professional Football League club Ikorodu United have confirmed that no life was lost during Friday’s road accident involving the team on their way to Makurdi to honour a league game against Lobi Stars, the club disclosed on their website Friday evening.
The bus carrying the Lagos team and their officials was involved in a road accident around 4pm.
Media Officer of the club, Babatunde Ayoola was thankful to God for the safety of lives of players and offcials.
“We didn’t have any casualty during the road accident and we give glory to the almighty God for that,” Ayoola said.
“The accident occurred around 4pm this afternoon when our team bus collided with a truck.
“It was a scary moment for everyone in the bus and we thank no life was lost as a result of the accident.
“All our players and the officials are in their hotel and we are all looking forward to the game against Lobi Stars on Sunday.”
Ikorodu United currently occupy the last position in the NPFL table following the suspension of Giwa FC.
