Abdulrahman Bashir scored the winner for Nasarawa United Saturday in their Nigeria Professional Football League clash against Rivers United at the Aper Aku Stadium in Markudi.

Rivers United would have gone top of the table with a victory against Nasarawa but the 1-0 defeat sees them remain third in the table and a point behind Enugu Rangers who themselves have a battle on their hands with a top-of-the-table game against leaders Wikki Tourists on Sunday.

Rivers United missed the chance to secure top position in the Nigeria Professional Football League after going down to a
1-0 defeat against Nasarawa United in Makurdi on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
It was the 11th consecutive win at home for the Solid Miners who are yet to drop points at their stadium since the
opening day defeat against MFM FC.

The other matchday 25 fixtures will be played across eight centres on Sunday.
