Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho came close to scoring but was denied by a last-ditch clearance by Roman Buerkias
as Manchester City defeated Borussia Dortmund 6-5 on penalties in their pre-season International Champions Cup clash at
the Shenzhen Stadium in China on Thursday.
The game had finished 1-1 after regulation time before the spot kicks.
Second half substitute Sergio Aguero scored in the 78th minute to give City the lead before Christian Pulisic equalised
with barely a minute left on the clock.
The Nigerian who was denied the chance to represent his country at the Rio Olympics was replaced by Wilfred Bony, while
the likes of David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure were introduced into the game.
With 12 minutes remaining, Aguero finally broke the deadlock, tapping into the net following Silva’s cutback.
And in the 96th minute, Pulisic equalised for Dortmund to send the game into penalty shootout.
