Mikel Denies Super Eagles Dollars Pay Package

Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi has denied reports that he insisted that his teammates’ win bonuses and allowances be
paid in dollars.

It was reported in some media outlets this week that a top source in the NFF claimed the Chelsea midfielder on
behalf of his Super Eagles teammates demanded they get their allowances and bonuses in dollars.

But Mikel on Thursday took to the Super Eagles official Twitter handle to debunk the claims.

“I never granted any such interview and the team had not made that kind of demand at any time to the football
federation,” he was quoted.

A present-day legend in the Nigeria national team Mikel is expected to be in action for the Super Eagles when they entertain Algeria on matchday 2 of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Uyo on 12 November.

He led the team to an important 2-1 away win against Zambia in Ndola on 9 October.

Onazi Set To Drag Lazio To FIFA
Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, is set to take former Serie A club SS Lazio to Federation of International
Football Association over unpaid wages.

Onazi spent five seasons at Lazio before joining Turkish top division club Trabzonspor in the summer.

He made 110 appearances for Lazio, scoring seven goals between 2011 and 2016.

“We have no option but to go to FIFA to ask the disciplinary committee to act on Lazio’s refusal to pay me,” Onazi
told BBC Sport on Thursday.

“My agent and lawyer have written to Lazio, but after two months we have heard nothing from the club.”

Onazi added: “We all conclude that the only ideal thing to do is to approach FIFA to enable me get what I worked

Success Major Doubt For Watford Against Swansea; Mazzari Hails Ighalo
Nigeria forward Isaac Success is a major doubt for Watford’s trip to Swansea City on Saturday after missing training
this week with a muscle injury.

Success made his first start for the Hornets in Sunday’s 1-0 win at Middlesbrough and was named man of the match.

But according to Watford manager, Walter Mazzarri, the Nigerian could miss out on the game at the Liberty Stadium.

“He didn’t train for the whole week with the team so he is a doubt for the game. He might not be available,” Mazzari
told the watfordobserver.

“I substituted him [on Sunday] because the physio told me during the game he was already hurting. I tried to keep
him on as much as I could during the game.

“After the 90 minutes when we were back in the dressing room they had a look at him and confirmed he could not train
for the next couple of days because of a muscular problem. Now we will see.

“Even in the past if you remember I’ve been saying he hasn’t trained regularly because of his muscle problems. He
has been having problems in the upper side of the right leg. But I’m not a physio so I can’t confirm 100 per cent
for you.”

The former Inter Milan boss went on to praise Odion Ighalo for being a true professional after he was dropped for
the game against Middlesbrough.

“To all the players I tend to speak to them always face to face. I did it with Odion for the whole week prior to the
game and as a great professional that he is he understood it very well,” Mazzarri added.

“Of course I know that now he is looking forward to getting back into the starting XI and showing he belongs there.
He was also ready to enter as a sub against Middlesbrough but we didn’t need it. But he was ready to play.”

Meanwhile, a Lazio official, (names withheld) told BBC Sport that the club would not comment on the matter.
