Atletico Madrid edged Liverpool 5-4 on penalties Wednesday evening to claim the 2017 Audi Cup at the Allianz Arena,
reports Newslegend.com.ng.

The game ended 1-1 on regulation time with Keidi Bare scoring for the Spaniards while Roberto Firmino ensured the
teams shared the spoils.

Bare scored in the 33rd minute from a rebound after the ball had hit the cross bar ad fell kindly to him. Firmino
equalised for the Reds who defeated Bayern Munich 3-0 in the semifinals on Tuesday.

Madrid scored all their ensuing penalty kicks but Jordan Henderson missed for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Madrid thus became the second La Liga side to win the pre season tournament after Barcelona who win it in 2011. No
English side have however managed to win it.
Serie A side Napoli defeated hosts Bayern Munich 2-0 to win the third place match with Kalidou Koulibaly and
Emanuele Giaccherini the scorers for the Partenopei in the 14th and 53rd minutes.
