Croatia playmaker Luka Modric was deservedly awarded the Player of the Tournament award as the curtains were drawn in the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday after leading the tiny European nation to the final.
Despite his team losing 4-2 to France in the final, Modric had done enough to convince FIFA technical study group.
France’s Kylian Mbappe was awarded the Young Player gong while Thibaut Courtouis whose Belgian side won the third place match against England on Saturday won the Golden Gloves as the best goalkeeper of the World Cup.
Harry Kane of England, with six goals, became the proud winner of the Golden Shoe.
The Fair play award went to the Spanish National Team.
