Nigeria Versus Guinea: Rhor Makes Five Changes To Starting Eleven Versus Burundi

Names Musa, Ighalo, Awaziem, Balogun, Simon; Iwobi Plays Number 10 Role

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rhor has released his starting line up for Wednesday’s Group B game against the Syli National of Guinea in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations at the Alexandria Stadium.

Vice captain Ahmed Musa comes into the starting eleven with the quartet of Odion Ighalo, Moses Simon, Leon Balogun and Chidozie Awaziem. All of the incoming players except Balogun and Simon came off the bench in Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Burundi on Saturday.

Rhor has dropped captain John Mikel Obi to the bench for the Guinea clash and in his place in the attacking midfield position will be taken by Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi.

Awaziem will be deployed in the right back position in place of Abdullahi Shehu who was withdrawn I the game against Burundi due to injury while Balogun will pair Kenneth Omeruo in central defence as William Troost Ekong failed a late fitness test.

Samuel Chukwueze and Paul Onuachu were the other players who started against Burundi who are expected to come off from the substitutes bench.
