Viewers and fans of reality television show Big Brother Naija have already started enjoying premium contents that it brings to the continent as the day 2 of Season 5 of the competition sees the 20 housemates gun for the Head of House role.
On Monday evening the housemates were involved in the Head of House challenge that lasted over two hours with Rebecca Hampson better known as Nengi beating off competition from the other contenders to emerge the first Head of House for the season. Neo was runner up in the contest.
The beautiful ‘queen’ of the week picked Florence Wathoni Anyansi as her deputy and would share the exquisite head of House lounge.
Last year Mercy Eke affectionately known as Lambo won the ultimate prize to become the first woman to win the contest after Katung Aduwak (2006), Efe Ajaba (2017) and Miracle Igbokwe (2018).
Organisers of the show Multichoice had long planned for this year’s edition which has an eye watering prize money of N85 Million on offer but it was thrown into doubt amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
However it was huge excitement when an online audition was called for intending housemates which ended on 30 May 2020.
The housemates went into a two-week quarantine period but fans nonetheless expect same high intense drama, plots and emotions that characterise it.
The airing for Season 5 of Big Brother Naija is live on Channel 198 on Dstv and Channel 29 on Gotv.
This year’s edition will run for only 71 days, until 27 September, and not the 99 days duration it lasted in 2019.
